APWCA - Legislative Committee
Legislative Committee

The legislative committee is a standing committee that answers directly to the board of directors and the president.   It is actively involved on a regular basis in reviewing legislative activity that affects the manner and/or the ability to which healthcare is delivered to patients requiring wound care. This includes reimbursement issues, service issues, and other aspects that directly affect the delivery of healthcare.

APWCA, through the Insurance Committee, has draft correspondence send to Congress representatives in support of bill H.R. 699.  A copy of the one of the original letters, signed by legislative committee members, can be found in Adobe Format.  An additional MS Word format is also available, which can be used by APWCA members and is found by going to the Insurance Initiative link on the homepage, or by clicking here.

Representatives from the board of directors and APWCA legislative committee continue to meet with CMS and other related agencies on a regular basis.  The most recent face to face meeting, which involved members of this association, occurred on June 13, 2006.  It exemplified the many aspects in which this committee interacts with legislative bodies on behalf of all those involved in health care delivery for the patients requiring wound care.
